When you were a kid did you ever play hide and seek outside? If you didnt what games did you play?

Me and the other kids that live near my house used to play hide and seek all the time. We used to hide in places like garbage cans, behind buildings, behind fences, in the abandoned house, half way up a building places like that. Now we dont play it as much because we are older but still do sometimes. What was the game called something different if the person that was it finds some one and they become it to? Sardines or something like that? We always played it that way.
