Anyone know how I can edit with camcorders?

I'm planning to get a camcorder and I know that you have to have, of course a USB cable, and some kind of program. Can anyone tell me some of the programs that would be really helpful in editing scenes with camcorders? Like having bloopers in the end and modernizing scenes with words on the screen and everything. Things like that. Thank You.
